Anti Ragging
1. Introduction to Anti-Ragging Ragging refers to any form of physical, mental, or emotional harassment or bullying of new students by senior students, either inside or outside the campus. This may include physical abuse, forced activities, verbal taunts, and even emotional manipulation. Ragging is an unlawful and unethical practice that can cause long-lasting trauma to students. 2. The Importance of Anti-Ragging Policies A campus should be a place where students can learn, grow, and build lifelong relationships. Ragging disrupts this environment and can result in serious mental health issues, physical harm, and even long-term academic setbacks. By promoting anti-ragging policies, we ensure that every student has a right to a harassment-free and respectful educational experience. 3. Legal Framework on Ragging According to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Supreme Court of India, ragging is a punishable offense under the law. Those found guilty of ragging may face suspension, fines, expulsion, or even imprisonment. Our institution follows all regulations laid out by the government to ensure a zero-tolerance approach to ragging. 4. Prevention and Awareness Programs We believe in prevention through education. Our institution regularly holds awareness sessions, workshops, and seminars to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging. These initiatives help foster a culture of respect, empathy, and responsibility among all students. "We are committed to ensuring that our campus remains a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. Ragging is not just illegal; it’s immoral. We stand united in eradicating this menace and promoting a culture of respect and harmony."
